HONOR McCARTNIANO: PAUL NOMINADO EN LOS PREMIOS MERCURY

Por primera vez, Macca compite para llevarse el tradicional galardón con otras figuras

Paul McCartney siempre va por más y este año tendrá otra posibilidad de ampliar esa vitrina tan generosa. A través de sus redes sociales confirmó que es uno de los finalistas del Premio Mercury 2026, un prestigioso galardón otorgado al mejor álbum del año para un artista británico.

A través de The Boys Of Dungeon Lane, es la primera nominación que McCartney recibe de un premio cuyo origen se remonta a 1992. De esta manera, Macca dejó afuera a los Rolling Stones, quienes también publicaron un disco este año como Foreign Tongues, con Andrew Watt, el mismo productor que The Boys Of Dungeon Lane.

"Gracias a todos los que siguen apoyando y disfrutando del álbum. Nos hemos divertido mucho en el camino. De hacerlo con Andrew Watt a publicarlo para que la gente lo escuche. Debo decir que la reacción fue muy especial. Asi que esta noticia, me ha sorprendido totalmente", dijo Paul McCartney.

La competencia para Paul no será sencilla porque enfrente tendrá a una gran candidata como Olivia Dean. Su disco The Art Of Loving arrasó en los Brit Awards y buscará hacer lo mismo en los Grammy 2027. Estuvo Top 5 durante 43 semanas en el Reino Unido, 8 de ellas en el número 1.

RUBBER SOUL: SE VIENE EDICIÓN DE LUJO

La comunidad beatle está atenta a una nueva publicación con uno de los mejores discos de la banda

Los Beatles se preparan para un nuevo anuncio. Ya lo deslizaron en la página oficial. Y todo apunta a que uno de sus discos más destacados tendrá una merecida reedición. Rubber Soul, el principio de la etapa más compleja desde lo musical, saldría al mercado para octubre de 2026.

Desde el sitio de Amazon en Bélgica ya se filtraron algunas imágenes al respecto.

Los formatos serán en CDs y vinilos, en mono y stereo, más el simple Day Tripper/We Can Work It Out.

ABE A LA VISTA: ¿EN QUÉ ANDA EL BATERISTA DE PAUL?

Muchos seguidores de Paul McCartney se preguntaban ¿y dónde está Abe Laboriel Jr? ¿Qué pasó con él? Sus ausencias en las últimas apariciones públicas de Paul (SNL y Colbert) llamaron mucho la atención y dieron lugar a suspicacias varias. La fotógrafa Kathy Kielar, en su cuenta de Instagram, nos dio una pista.

Laboriel Jr. fue visto en el Hollywood Palladium y Kielar no dudó un segundo en tener un recuerdo fotográfico. El propio baterista de McCartney se hizo cargo de la selfie. 

"Es un tipo genuinamente amable, que tiene una vibra alegre, que se hizo fácil hablar con él. No sólo fue generoso con su tiempo, sino que tomó esta foto de nosotros tres (porque soy la peor tomando selfies)", posteó Kielar sobre la instantánea que logró junto con su esposo.

La reaparición de Laboriel Jr. nos pone contentos, en especial con todo lo que se dijo. Incluso con algunos rumores que hicieron mención a un problema de salud. Hasta el día de hoy no está claro porqué faltó a las promociones televisivas de The Boys Of Dungeon Lane. La A mayúscula con el corazón en el parche del bombo en la batería todavía no fue descifrado, pero tal vez más tenga que ver con la teoría de que no pudo asistir por el fallecimiento de su madre.

Más adelante en el tiempo tendremos la respuesta. Mientras tanto celebramos su aparición, en momentos donde las posibilidades de un regreso a los escenarios, al menos este año, parecen complicadas. Si bien hay un rumor de probables fechas en Reino Unido para diciembre, no hay nada nuevo bajo el sol.

Paul McCartney está en Liverpool. El lunes fue noticia al mostrarse con el celular, en el asiento trasero de un auto, mediante una videollamada con Ringo Starr, mientras saludaba a los fans que lo reconocieron.

Los medios locales apuntan que el hecho ocurrió durante la guía del Magical Mystery Tour, el tradicional recorrido por puntos clave de Los Beatles en la ciudad.

Este martes, McCartney dijo presente en el Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA), tal como hace cada año, para la graduación. De esta manera, la jornada promete más apariciones de Paul. 

EL HIT BEATLE QUE McCARTNEY CANTÓ DESPUÉS DE 60 AÑOS

McCartney cantó I Want To Hold Your Hand, el clásico de Los Beatles, por primera vez en 60 años 

Paul McCartney dijo presente en la mediática boda entre Taylor Swift y Travis Kelce, en el mítico Madison Square Garden de la ciudad de Nueva York, en Estados Unidos. Y de acuerdo a la revista People, Macca interpretó en vivo un histórico hit beatle que no cantaba desde hace 60 años.

McCartney cantó I Want To Hold Your Hand, el tema que les permitió a Los Beatles ir por la conquista de los Estados Unidos en febrero de 1964. La última vez que Paul había interpretado la canción acreditada a Lennon/McCartney fue en septiembre de 1964, en el teatro Paramount de Nueva York.

Por supuesto, la elección tuvo mucho que ver con el acontecimiento que se realizó el viernes pasado y cuya información se filtró en las últimas horas. 

El escenario también tuvo la presencia de Stevie Nicks, la ex cantante de Fleetwood Mac.

Paul y Taylor tienen una buena relación. Aparecieron juntos en una portada de la revista Rolling Stone (2020), e incluso compartieron escenario una fiesta privada de los premios Grammy. Hace dos años, Macca asistió a su concierto en el estadio de Wembley, en Londres.
